The event, “Compliance Week 2010,” has been described as “the ‘Davos’ of compliance,” as it draws hundreds of compliance, risk, finance, legal, and audit executives for a multi-day exploration of current practices and regulatory challenges.

“Compliance officers converge here every year,” noted Qwest Communications’ Chief Risk and Compliance Officer David Heller at the 2009 event.

Fannie Mae Chief Compliance Officer Bill Senhauser called the conference “a remarkable annual gathering of CCOs.”

Every year, a corporate Advisory Board is established to work closely with Compliance Week Publisher Scott Cohen and Editor Matt Kelly. Says Cohen, “The board plays a crucial role in helping Compliance Week assess critical issues, establish agenda topics, and even conceptualize specific sessions.”

Members of the conference Advisory Board are nominated by Compliance Week’s publisher. The board for Compliance Week 2010 includes:

  • Best Buy Chief Ethics Officer Kathleen Edmond
  • Coca-Cola Enterprises Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer Alejandro Diaz
  • Conseco SVP & Chief Compliance Officer Mark Johnson
  • Duke Energy Vice President, Audit Services and Chief Compliance Officer Jeff Browning
  • Ford Motor Company Director of Compliance James Carroll
  • H.J. Heinz Company Director Enterprise Reputation and Risk Management Jim Traut
  • Home Depot Director of Corporate Compliance Brad Nesmith
  • Johnson & Johnson Director of Internal Audit William White
  • PepsiCo Chief Compliance Officer Stephen Naughton
  • Procter & Gamble Company VP Global Internal Audit Ken Robinson
  • Royal Dutch Shell Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer Richard Wiseman
  • Target Corp. Director, Corporate Compliance & Ethics Robert Foehl
  • Terex Vice President, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer Stacey Babson-Smith
  • U.S. Steel Assistant General Counsel - Compliance Mary Beth Taylor
  • United Technologies Corp. Global Director, Internal Audit Corliss Montesi
  • Visa, Inc. Chief Compliance Officer Karen Griffin
  • Wal-Mart Stores Director, Compliance Risk Management Julie Stroud

“We have an exceptional Advisory Board this year,” notes Kelly, “and we look forward to working with them as the conference planning process gets underway.”

Compliance Week subscribers are urged to get involved in the planning process as well. Sessions and topics can be submitted to Cohen at publisher@complianceweek.com.
