New Archiving Solution for Large File Transfers Available

Accellion, a provider of managed file transfer solutions, has announced the release of the Accellion Archival Satellite for large file transfers.

Accellion Managed File Transfer enables corporations and government agencies to quickly and securely share large digital files (up to 20 GB) without impacting e-mail performance or increasing e-mail storage requirements. All files transferred via Accellion are tracked and secured and include the option for authentication before download.

“With the majority of corporate e-mail policies restricting file sizes to 10 MB, many business-critical documents are being transferred outside of the e-mail system and are bypassing the e-mail archival system and policies,” said Yorgen Edholm, president and CEO of Accellion. “The Accellion Archival Satellite fills a market void, making it easier for companies to quickly and securely transfer large files while protecting their intellectual property and ensuring business record retention.”

The Accellion Archival Satellite continuously monitors Accellion file transfers to determine which file transfers meet the criteria for archiving. All Accellion file transfers subject to corporate archival policy are captured and replicated to an Archival Satellite. The Accellion Archival Satellite is responsible for delivering a copy of the original e-mail with file attachments to the Archival Mail Server.

Using Accellion, corporations and government agencies are able to secure and protect the transfer of intellectual property and sensitive information subject to industry and government compliance regulations. The Accellion Archival Satellite extends protection and archiving of business records to include Accellion file transfer.
