Former Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, Vice President Risk Management

Dave Heller Dave Heller was appointed Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer for Qwest in December 2002. He was responsible for ethics and corporate compliance, regulatory compliance, security, disaster preparedness, environmental affairs, safety and industrial hygiene, claims and risk finance & insurance.

Previously Mr. Heller was Vice President Risk Management and Chief Compliance Officer, as well as an attorney for U S WEST, Inc. and Safety, Security and Industrial Hygiene Advisor for Mobil Oil. He is a regular speaker on risk management and compliance issues and has taught in the graduate curriculum at the University of Denver.

Mr. Heller received his Bachelor of Science in fire protection engineering technology from Oklahoma State University in 1981, his Master’s degree in environmental policy and management from the University of Denver in 1992 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver School of Law in 1987.

Mr. Heller is a member of the Open Compliance & Ethics Group, the Ethics and Compliance Officers Association and the Colorado and District of Columbia Bar Associations. In 2008 he was appointed to the Executive Advisory Board of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and was elected to the Board of the Health Care Compliance Association. He is a member of the Board of the Mile High Chapter, American Red Cross, and past President and member of the Board of the South Metro Fire Protection District.

Dave and his wife live in the Denver area.
