Jim Ferguson is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Halliburton. In that role, Ferguson is responsible for the litigation, environmental and employment law activities in the Company’s Law Department.
Prior to assuming the Deputy General Counsel position in 2007, Ferguson served as Director of Risk Management and Assistant General Counsel for Halliburton/Brown & Root, starting in 1988. In that role, he managed Halliburton’s enterprise risk management, retained risk and insurance programs, as well as certain other responsibilities.
Prior to joining Halliburton, Ferguson served as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Atwood Oceanics from 1975-1988.
Jim left the State of Texas Employment Commission where he worked as an Employment Interviewer in the Houston office from 1970-1972 to attend law school. He holds an A.B. degree from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law.
