World Bank debars medical-device company, two others

The World Bank has debarred three companies and reached a settlement with one company concerning sanctionable practices under projects in Bangladesh, India, and Timor-Leste.

The debarments make Eckert & Ziegler BEBIG s.a., RKD Construction Pvt. Ltd. (RKD), and Egis International Indonesia ineligible to participate in World Bank Group-financed projects for periods ranging from 15 months to two years. They are part of three separate settlement agreements, under which the companies acknowledge responsibility for the underlying sanctionable practices and agree to meet specified corporate compliance conditions as a condition for release from debarment.
