Another Legal Head at Barclays Resigns

Barclays announced that Michael Shaw, deputy group general for Barclay's Banking Group, will be leaving his post at the end of September to pursue other interests after six years with the bank. Since the start of last year, a spate of other legal executives have the left Barclays as it seeks to restructure its legal department.

The news was first reported by Legal Business in London. Others who have left include Mark Edwards, Barclays’ general counsel of global retail and business banking, who left last year; Erica Handling, EMEA general counsel, who joined funds giant Blackrock this month; Jonathan Peddie, global head of financial crime; and Judith Shepherd, global corporate and investment banking general counsel.
