Groupon, an e-commerce marketplace, has appointed Melissa Thomas as chief accounting officer and treasurer, the company announced in a securities filing.

Thomas replaces Brian Stevens, who notified the company on Nov. 8 of his decision to resign as in order to pursue a new opportunity. Stevens’ resignation took effective Nov. 30.

Thomas has served as the company’s vice president, commercial finance since May 2017. She previously served as vice president, finance of Surgical Care Affiliates from June 2016 to May 2017 and in various finance and accounting positions at Orbitz Worldwide from August 2007 to May 2016, including most recently as vice president, finance. Prior to Orbitz, Ms. Thomas held accounting positions at Equity Office Properties and began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
