Target chief risk and compliance officer to depart

Scuttlebutt | September 11, 2017

Retail giant Target said that Jacqueline Rice, chief risk and compliance officer, will be leaving the company in September.

In a statement, Target said Rice made the personal decision to leave Target to be closer to her family who live outside Minnesota.

Rather than replace her role, Target said that Chief Legal Officer Don Liu will inherit her team.

While at Target, Rice was responsible for the centralized oversight of enterprise risk management, compliance, vendor management, and corporate security. She led a team focused on evolving and enhancing enterprise risk and compliance standards to protect Target and its stakeholders, including guests, team members and vendors.

Prior to joining Target in 2014, she was chief compliance officer and legal counsel for General Motors, a global automotive manufacturer. There, she led a global team of lawyers and compliance professionals to develop programs focused on global compliance including anti-corruption, export controls, data privacy and ethics.
