Hilary Wandall on U.S. data privacy priorities

Tom Fox | February 19, 2019

Welcome to Compliance Week’s “Top Minds in Compliance” podcast—our weekly conversation with a leader in the compliance field. This week, columnist Tom Fox chats with Hilary Wandall, senior vice president, general counsel, and chief data governance officer at TrustArc.

As part of Compliance Week’s special report on data privacy, Wandall wrote a guest column titled: “What federal data privacy legislation might look like, and how you can prepare.” She expands on the ideas presented in her column and explains why U.S. companies should address data privacy now, regardless of their motivations.

“Knowing that there’s different motivations—still at the center of all of that is the need to understand what data you have and how that’s impacting your concerns,” Wandall says.
