As consumers’ awareness of the use of cookies and similar tracking technologies has begun to soar, global lawmakers and regulators have taken a keen interest in how companies are using website and mobile tracking – particularly in the area of consent. This has evidenced itself through enforcement actions, new EU supervisory authorities’ guidance and stark warnings of changes to come.

Relatedly, new laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) will afford consumers the right to opt-out of the “sale” of their personal information to third parties, prompting updates to traditional consent practices in the US.

With this new normal in mind, it’s important for organizations to understand where changes may be needed to their data governance, website and supply chain practices.

Join us on this webcast, where we’ll discuss:

  • An overview of the mechanics of online advertising, and the latest regulatory guidance in the cookie consent and digital ads spaces;
  • Website changes that can increase compliance with CCPA and other US state privacy laws;
  • Best practices for publishers and advertising ecosystem participants in transparency, documenting legal bases, treatment of special category data, “cookie” consent exceptions, and more; and
  • A real-world use case of sound website cookie consent practices.
