Allstate has appointed Eric Ferren to serve as senior vice president, controller, and chief accounting officer, effective May 14, the insurance company said  in a securities filing.

Ferren will succeed Samuel Pilch, controller and principal accounting officer. Pilch will remain as senior group vice president of Allstate Insurance Company.

Ferren has served as Allstate’s SVP of external reporting and corporate accounting since April 2014. Prior to joining Allstate, he served in various executive capacities at HSBC since 2006, including chief financial officer of HSBC Bank USA, and as executive vice president and chief accounting officer of HSBC North America.
