Cooper Standard, a global supplier of systems and components for the automotive industry, has appointed Annemarie Kleabir to vice president, internal audit and compliance, effective Oct. 2. She replaces Peter Brusate who was recently promoted to vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer of Cooper Standard.

In this position, Kleabir will provide leadership, strategy, and planning for all of Cooper Standard's global internal audit and compliance activities, including its global Sarbanes-Oxley program. She will report to Jonathan Banas, executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Prior to joining Cooper Standard, Kleabir served as controller and chief accounting officer at Detroit-based Rock Ventures, an organization which serves and connects a family owned portfolio of more than 100 companies. In this role, she led the accounting and reporting functions, as well as managed treasury operations. Kleabir also assisted multiple start-up companies in setting up the organization and establishing accounting and reporting operations.

From 2009 to 2014, she served as senior manager, advisory services at Deloitte & Touche. From 1998 to 2009, Kleabir held a number of roles with increasing responsibility at Chrysler (now Fiat Chrysler Automobiles), most recently serving as senior manager, special accounting operations. Kleabir started her career at Ernst & Young, advancing to the role of senior manager, audit.
