Excel Funds Management has promoted Christine Tan to senior portfolio manager and chief compliance officer at Excel Investment Counsel, a subsidiary of Excel Funds.

In her new role, Tan will remain portfolio manager of the Excel Emerging Markets Fund and will take on additional responsibility as portfolio manager of the Excel Blue Chip Equity Fund, Excel Blue Chip Balanced Fund, Excel BRIC Fund and Excel Chindia Fund, which were previously managed by David Kunselman, whom she replaces as senior portfolio manager. 

Tan, who joined Excel Investment Counsel in 2012, has over 13 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Excel , she  was vice president and portfolio manager at Gluskin Sheff + Associates in Toronto, a wealth manager serving high net worth private clients and institutional investors, where she co-managed a top-quartile $1.3 billion Canadian equity portfolio.
