Financeit, a point-of-sale financing provider based in Canada, has appointed Dante Tamburro as general counsel and chief compliance officer.

Tamburro , an industry veteran, joins Financeit after spending 15 years at Tangerine Bank, where he held various positions across his tenure, including vice president, general counsel, chief anti-money laundering officer, and chief compliance officer. As CCO, he managed and supervised the compliance and AML functions for the bank and its subsidiaries, and as general counsel, he provided strategic support to the executive team in relation to all material initiatives. In 2012, Tamburro acted as a lead in the sale of ING Direct (now known as Tangerine).

"This announcement arrives on the heels of a substantial investment from long-time partner Goldman Sachs resulting in a majority ownership position. The investment has allowed the acquisition of leading home improvement software company, Centah, and supports the company's geographic expansion plans," the company stated. "Tamburro's experience in compliance and legal counsel will be central to helping Financeit prepare for the upcoming milestones."

Financeit has welcomed 58 employees to the team since January 2017.
