Tim Follett has joined Weaver, the largest independent accounting firm in the Southwest, as an assurance partner in the firm’s quality and risk management group. He will focus on developing tools, resources, guidance, policies and processes associated with firm compliance, risk management, administration and operations.

Follett brings more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, specifically in assurance services, including more than 10 years serving in leadership roles for top-10 ranked national firms. He has also served as the firm liaison for external quality reviewers, including the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, the Canadian Public Accountability Board, the Department of Labor, Kreston International, an international network, and the firm’s peer reviewers.

Follett also has provided assurance and consulting services to a wide array of industries with a focus on manufacturers, distributors, service organizations, nonprofits and employee benefit plans. Most recently, he was a shareholder and national director of quality control for Mayer Hoffman McCann. He previously held leadership roles, including firm-wide associate director of accounting and auditing, at BKD CPAs & Advisors.

Follett is a chartered global management accountant and a certified public accountant in Kansas and Missouri. His professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants (Metro chapter_. He is a recurring author of the AICPA Management of Accounting Practice Handbook and a frequent speaker at the University of Missouri–Kansas City’s Henry W. Bloch School of Management, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
