Mike Munro, former deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer at offshore driller Transocean, has joined global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright as head of compliance of its Houston office.

Munro’s practice will focus on assisting clients in addressing global business risks through compliance program development, improvement and assessments, appropriate investigations and the proper management of compliance-related government relationships, settlements and ongoing reporting obligations. He has significant experience in managing complex government investigations and settlements, as well as working with post-merger organizations.

Prior to joining Transocean, Munro held global compliance risk roles at energy companies Baker Hughes and the Bristow Group. He previously worked for The Dow Chemical Company for more than 15 years in various legal, compliance and regulatory-related roles.
