In this post yesterday, I discussed Mary Schapiro’s comments at the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Roundtable on Credit Agencies, in which she stated that the role of credit rating agencies must be an area for the agency’s “intense review” as it considers how to promote investor protection and restore confidence.

Schapiro laid out numerous, fundamental questions about rating agencies that she said would be addressed during the Roundtable (see the prior post for the full list). Already I have received several emails from readers interested in the questions raised by Schapiro, and would like to use CW’s new message boards to facilitate and continue the discussion about the rating agencies.
