Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) this week sent letters to every chief executive officer of the Fortune 500—including Apple, Bank of America, Citigroup, Hewlett-Packard, and many more—inquiring about their views on cyber-security, and what measures they have in place to protect against cyber-attacks. 

If this keeps up, companies may beg for legislation on cyber-security, rather than have to answer to potentially hundreds of individual senators and congressional members individually.
