Global Defense Technology & Systems has appointed Eric Rangen to the company's board of directors. He also will chair the audit committee and serve as a member of the compensation committee.

Rangen is senior vice president and chief accounting officer of UnitedHealth Group and has served in that capacity since December 2006. Prior to UnitedHealth, Rangen served in several capacities, including executive vice president and CFO of Alliant Techsystems and as an accountant with Deloitte & Touche, where he was a partner from 1994 to 2001. Rangen is a member of the board of directors of Flexsteel Industries, where he also serves as chair of the audit and ethics committee.
