FinTech solutions provider Plaid has added Meredith Fuchs as general counsel.

Fuchs most recently served as senior vice president, chief counsel, enterprise regulatory at Capital One, according to her LinkedIn profile. Prior to joining Capital One in 2016, she spent five years at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, including a nearly four-year stint as general counsel from June 2012 to January 2016.

“I helped build the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) as it was emerging from the fallout of the 2008 financial crisis and later went on to help a large bank innovate and use digital tools to meet its customers’ needs,” Fuchs wrote in a blog post. “In parallel, new fintech services gained significant adoption among millions of people around the world. Now, at a critical moment for the industry, I am joining Plaid … to continue advocating for consumers’ financial empowerment.”
