Global insurance firm American International Group (AIG) announced the appointment of Sabra Purtill as executive vice president, chief risk officer.

Purtill will be based in New York and report to President and CEO Peter Zaffino. She has been serving as interim chief risk officer for AIG since February 2021.

Purtill joined the company in 2019 as deputy chief financial officer overseeing treasury, rating agency relations, investor relations, and corporate development.

Her 30-year career includes holding the position of senior vice president, investor relations and treasurer at The Hartford Financial Services Group. She was also managing director, investor relations and communications at Assured Guaranty. Prior to that, Purtill was a corporate finance officer at ACE Limited, now known as Chubb Limited.
