Insurance company AmeriLife Group announced the appointment of Jeffrey Halperin as chief risk and compliance officer.

He will report to Nathan Hightower, chief legal and administrative officer, and oversee the company’s compliance department.

Halperin brings more than 30 years of securities and insurance experience. He will lead an enterprise-wide approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure proper controls to achieve business objectives.

Previously, Halperin served as chief compliance officer at Brighthouse Financial, a spinoff of MetLife’s former retail division. Prior to Brighthouse, he served in MetLife’s corporate ethics and compliance department in a variety of roles, including global money laundering prevention officer; CCO of MetLife funds, advisers, and securities; and senior vice president of compliance for MetLife’s U.S. businesses.
