Life sciences company Bayer announced the promotion of Vice President and Global Head of Litigation William Dodero to senior vice president and general counsel.

Dodero succeeds Scott Partridge in the role and joins the U.S. leadership team. Partridge departs the company after 16 years with Monsanto and Bayer.

In his new role in the U.S. organization, Dodero will oversee six functional areas of law covering compliance, corporate law, litigation, safety and environmental law, employment and labor law, and international trade services. He previously served as global legal head for Bayer’s consumer health business, and before that was a senior counsel in the company’s pharmaceutical business and litigation group.

Before his tenure at Bayer, Dodero served as an attorney with law firm O’Connor, Cohn, Dillon & Barr for more than five years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
