Global property and casualty insurance company Chubb announced the promotion of Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Risk Officer Frances O’Brien to chief risk officer.

O’Brien, who’s served as deputy chief risk officer since January 2022, will have executive responsibility for Chubb’s enterprise risk management organization and the effective execution of its enterprise risk strategies and processes.

She will report to Evan Greenberg and John Keogh, president and chief operating officer, respectively.

With more than 40 years of insurance industry experience, O’Brien previously served as division president of North America personal risk services from 2016-22. Prior to ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in 2016, she served as chief risk officer of Chubb Corporation. O’Brien joined Chubb as an actuarial trainee and served in positions of increasing responsibility in actuarial, product development, and underwriting, including chief underwriting officer for Chubb’s personal insurance division.

Chubb’s former chief risk officer, Sean Ringsted, will continue to serve as executive vice president, Chubb Group and chief digital business officer, according to the company.
