Coupang, a Korea-based e-commerce company, has named Michael Parker as chief accounting officer.

Prior to joining Coupang, Parker served as vice president – controller, governance and reporting at Nike. He was responsible for leading Nike’s external and SEC reporting, technical accounting and policy, and internal controls governance.

Before that, Parker held various executive accounting positions with Walmart, culminating in his role as vice president, finance transformation. In this position, he led initiatives to implement, maintain, and oversee anti-corruption financial controls around the globe. Parker also served as vice president, controller, for both Walmart Canada and Walmart China, as well as senior director, global accounting and policy, Walmart Stores.

Before joining Walmart, Parker worked as a senior manager of audit services at Deloitte & Touche, which included a two-year technical assignment in Deloitte’s national office.
