Eiger BioPharmaceuticals announced the appointment of James Vollins as general counsel, chief compliance officer, and corporate secretary.

Vollins brings 30 years of legal experience to role. He previously held the same title with BioDelivery Sciences International and Bio Products Laboratory Limited.

He also previously served as assistant general counsel at Grifols and Talecris Biotherapeutics and as general counsel at Pfizer.

He got his start in compliance as a senior attorney at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, where he “represented corporate clients in diverse commercial matters, including compliance with the healthcare fraud and abuse laws,” according to his LinkedIn profile.
