Financial technology company Klarpay AG announced the appointment of Markus Emödi as chief legal and compliance officer.

Emödi has more than 20 years of financial industry experience. He specializes in compliance and risk management, with expertise in anti-money laundering, securities law, asset management, and payment transactions.

He will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the company’s legal and compliance functions.

He previously served as general counsel at French banking company CIC, head of legal services and compliance at Switzerland-based Migros Bank, and compliance generalist at Citibank, according to his LinkedIn profile.
