Manufacturing company Kohler Co. announced the promotion of Laura Kohler to be its first chief sustainability and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officer.

Kohler, who most recently served as senior vice president of human resources, stewardship, and sustainability, will report directly to her brother, Chair and Chief Executive David Kohler.

Throughout her 30-year tenure, Laura Kohler helped formalize the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and social impact, including the release of its first environmental, social, and governance report in 2022.

As chief sustainability and DEI officer, she will focus on company’s 2035 net zero pledge while also fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion.

She will lead a team of more than 40 experts who will focus on strengthening the company’s relationship with key stakeholders, expanding the development of environmentally friendly products and processes, and advocating on important industry and societal challenges.
