Storage solutions provider Micron Technology announced the appointment of Michael Ray as senior vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Ray will report directly to Sanjay Mehrotra, president and chief executive officer of Micron.

Ray led the legal department at Western Digital for more than 13 years as general counsel and ultimately chief legal officer. Earlier, he was corporate counsel for Wynn’s International, a manufacturer of automotive parts and chemicals.

He also served the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California as a judicial clerk and practiced labor and employment law at O’Melveny & Myers.
