Online payment platform PayPal announced Louise Pentland, executive vice president, chief business affairs and legal officer, will step down from her role at the end of the year.

PayPal and Pentland entered into a separation agreement on Nov. 10, according to a regulatory filing by the company.

Pentland held the role for nearly seven years. She described the position as her “dream job,” in a post on her LinkedIn profile.

“None of us are maximizing our potential if we continue in the same role forever,” she wrote. “Renewal for you and your teams should be an open discussion and not hidden in the shadows.”

In her post, Pentland announced Bimal Patel will take over as her successor, effective Jan. 1, 2022. Patel joined PayPal’s legal team in January 2021.
