Rite Aid announced the appointment of Thomas Sabatino as executive vice president and chief legal officer.

Sabatino will oversee legal affairs, including enterprise risk management, compliance, regulatory affairs, and privacy, and assist in the company’s growth strategy. He will join the executive team and report to Busy Burr, interim chief executive.

Sabatino brings four decades of experience in the legal field, most recently serving as executive vice president and general counsel at Tenneco. He also brings extensive experience in the healthcare industry, with previous executive roles at Aetna, Walgreen Boots Alliance, Schering Plough Corp., and Baxter International.
