Robinhood appoints new legal chief

Gallagher has been a member of the board of directors at Robinhood since October 2019. In his new role, he will oversee all global legal functions including corporate counsel, regulatory counsel, and product counsel.

In addition to his position on Robinhood’s board of directors, Gallagher was most recently partner and deputy chair of the Securities Department at the international law firm WilmerHale. He served as a commissioner at the Securities and Exchange Commission from 2011 to 2015.

Gallagher replaces Anne Hoge, who is leaving Robinhood later this month to attend to an illness in the family.
