Real estate investment trust Veris Residential has appointed Amanda Lombard chief accounting officer, effective Jan. 18. She succeeds Giovanni DeBari, who is leaving the company after 25 years.

Most recently, Lombard served as chief financial officer of Seritage Growth Properties.

She will transition to the role of chief financial officer, as CFO David Smetana plans to leave Veris to pursue other opportunities when his contract is completed by year-end 2022. Lombard will work closely with DeBari and Smetana to ensure a smooth transition into both roles.

Lombard brings more than a decade of publicly traded real estate investment trust experience to Veris. Prior to serving as CFO, Lombard was chief accounting officer at Seritage. Previously, she held the position of chief accounting officer at Gramercy Property Trust and began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
