La-Z-Boy has appointed Lindsay Barnes as chief accounting officer. She replaces Margaret Mueller who has resigned, but who will remain with the company through Aug. 31 as vice president of finance and assistant treasurer.

Barnes previously served as vice president and corporate controller. She joined the company in 2011 as director of financial reporting and was promoted in January 2015 to vice president and corporate controller.

Prior to joining the La-Z-Boy, Barnes held various financial positions at Borders Group.

The company stated that Mueller’s resignation is “not a result of any disagreement with the company’s independent auditors or any member of management on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure or internal controls.”
