McGladrey Names Bill Gorman Chief Operating Officer

McGladrey—the nation’s leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market—announced today that Bill Gorman will succeed Mike Kirley as the firm’s chief operating officer, effective Sept. 1, 2015. In the role, Gorman will be responsible for overseeing business planning and strategy execution, as well as the firm’s five regions, accounting industry services business and

Gorman most recently served as managing partner of the firm’s Southeast Region, responsible for operations, client service and people management from Washington D.C. to South Florida. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the accounting profession to this role and served as a member of McGladrey’s national leadership team since 2011. He previously held assurance leadership roles in the firm’s East Region and Mid-Atlantic Economic Unit and also served on the firm’s Board of Directors. He is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s University and a member of the AICPA and Maryland Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Gorman is also active in the community, having served as board member and board chair for various organizations, including Bon Secours Hospital and Bon Secours Health Systems in Baltimore, Maryvale Preparatory School, the Sellinger Business School at Loyola University, Mount Saint Mary’s University’s business school, and Baltimore Country Club.
