Millennium Capital and Recovery, a provider of nationwide recovery management services, has appointed Daniel Clevenger as general counsel and chief compliance officer. Clevenger will lead the company’s in-house legal and compliance activities.

Clevenger's appointment enhances Millennium’s already established compliance monitoring process and enables the company to provide additional resources and training to their independent agent network, the company stated. Clevenger also will serve as a liaison with Millennium’s customers to provide guidance and assistance in the implementation of new consumer financial protection laws and regulations.

“This is a critical time in the rigorously regulated consumer finance industry requiring an in-depth understanding of compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations," Millennium’s President Jayne Bronchetti said in a statement. In the past, Millennium relied on outside legal counsel for such requirements, she said.

Clevenger has been in private practice for the past fifteen years and was a partner with the law firm of Day Ketterer. During his career, he specialized in the areas of litigation, business law, and more recently worked as outside general counsel for regional mid-sized businesses providing legal guidance in corporate governance, compliance, acquisitions, employment matters, and contract negotiations.
