PwC US has appointed Patrick Hynes as a principal in the advisory cybersecurity practice, focused on cybercrime and breach response. He is based in PwC’s Los Angeles office.

Hynes joins PwC with a strong background in cyber-security. Prior to joining PwC, he was an executive director with professional services firm EY for over 20 years, focused on managing and delivering attack and penetration assessments for gaming, retail, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, and financial service clients. This includes social engineering (physical and e-mail phishing), remote access trojan (RAT) deployment, internal network, wireless, Internet, and blackbox assessments.

Additionally, Hynes assisted multiple retailers, technology companies, financial services, defense contractors, pharmaceutical, hospital, higher education, media and entertainment and global manufacturing clients in responding to cyber attacks directed by nation states, Eastern European organized crime, and international activist groups. Hynes also designed and implemented plans to reorganize and transform client environments to better complicate, detect and respond to current threats and organized attacks.
