The Supervisory Board of Rabobank has nominated Petra van Hoeken as chief risk officer and member of its executive board. Her nomination will be submitted for regulatory review and for advice from the Works Council.

Further announcements will be made as soon as the required approval processes are completed. The existing role of chief risk officer has been vacant since Jan. 1 and is being filled by Wiebe Draijer, chairman of the executive board, ad interim.

van Hoeken has years of experience in risk management in the banking sector. She joined the executive board of NIBC as a chief risk officer at the end of 2011. From 2008 she worked at RBS as chief risk officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, covering credit, market and operational risk and regulatory risk and compliance. Previously, she held various international roles at ABN AMRO, both  in commercial and in risk management positions.
