The chief operating officer of a plastic resin importer has pleaded guilty to intentionally falsifying documents to avoid paying tariffs on goods from China, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced.

David Guimond, former COO of MGI international, of New Hampshire, told his reporting employees to make it appear on paperwork provided to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that the plastic resin the company imported from China was from Taiwan or Saudi Arabia. The resin was sold by MGI in the U.S.
