This isn’t just a European story. GDPR caught global businesses off guard. This is for everyone.
The directive is already in force.
And like GDPR before it, the organisations caught off guard won’t be the ones who didn’t know about it. They’ll be the ones who assumed it didn’t apply to them.
It covers bribery, trading in influence, private-sector corruption, conflicts of interest, and illicit enrichment. Penalties reach up to 5% of global annual turnover. Member states have until 2028 to transpose it into national law.
That sounds like time. GDPR felt that way too.
The organisations that will be in the strongest position in 2028 are building their programmes now, before the national transposition rush, before enforcement pressure lands, and before the scramble begins.
What you’ll take away
- A clear understanding of what the Directive requires and exactly which organizations and individuals fall within its scope
- A view on the mitigating factors to moderate organization’ responsibility such as: ABAC policy, collaboration with the authorities, ethic awareness, third-party due diligence, and risk assessment.
- A practical readiness framework to help prioritise your compliance resources before the implementation deadline
