Paint company Sherwin-Williams has elected Steven Wunning to its board of directors, effective as of July 15. He also was appointed to the compensation and management development committee. 

Wunning recently retired as group president of the resource industries group at Caterpillar after 41 years of service, having begun his career at Caterpillar in 1973. He held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility in the areas of quality, manufacturing, product support and logistics, including as vice president of Cat Logistics in 1990 and president in 1994.  In 1998, he was named corporate vice president, with responsibility for the logistics and product services division. In 2000, he became corporate vice president with responsibility for the logistics division before being appointed group president in 2004. 

With Wunning's appointment, Sherwin-Williams’ board now consists of eleven members, including ten independent directors.
