TransferTo, a global mobile money hub, has appointed Paul de Ruiter as chief compliance officer. In this role, he will lead TransferTo’s global compliance function.
de Ruiter joins TransferTo from global online payment service provider PayPal in Singapore, where he was compliance director, according to his LinkedIn profile. In his new role with TransferTo, de Ruiter will build a worldwide compliance program as the foundation to which TransferTo’s mobile money hub can grow. He will ensure that the Hub remains compliant in an industry that is constantly adapting to regulatory changes.
“I approach compliance as an independent function, but not a stand-alone department," de Ruiter said in a statement. "Compliance has to be integrated into the business, to become a mindset, an attitude, and a way of doing business."
