UHY Advisors, a tax and business consulting firm, has expanded the size and capabilities of its accounting automation team and service offerings with the acquisition of the practice of Bright Point Consulting, a finance and accounting software implementation firm.

“UHY Advisors acquisition of Bright Point Consulting’s practice brings together the complementary strengths of our respective organizations,” said Frank Fenello, managing director for UHY Advisors. “Bright Point has expanded our already robust BlackLine software implementation and optimization capabilities and resources, and they have brought additional capabilities for both Host Analytics and Workiva software implementations. These additional capabilities and resources have enhanced our nationwide project capabilities with more team members located in key markets.”

Fenello leads the firm’s Management & Technology Consulting practice, which includes the following services: Accounting Automation; Digital Transformation; Portfolio, Program, and Project Management (P3M); Resource Solutions; Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance; Enterprise Optimization; Finance Transformation; and Post-Merger Integration.

UHY Advisors helps companies -- ranging from mid-sized to the Fortune 500 -- transform finance and operational functions with a full suite of services through its Management & Technology Consulting practice. The firm works with client teams to improve visibility and metrics for back office operations, improve internal control efficiency and effectiveness, and optimize workforce through process improvement.

Bright Point and UHY Advisors share the same values. This acquisition allows the continuation of the tradition both companies have for excellent client service, deep technical expertise, and a working environment their clients and associates want to be a part of. The Raleigh firm was founded in 2010 to help organizations realize the promise of technology with a focus on software-as-a-service solutions for corporate finance and accounting departments.

“Our combined team of talented professionals will have the ability to implement cloud-based tools for clients using the industry’s most innovative software platforms, allowing us to help our clients transform key business areas,” said Bill Rausch, founder and managing director at Bright Point. “The combination of our two practices will allow us to better serve our clients through the breadth of product offerings and depth of knowledge from each practice.”

With the completion of the acquisition, both Rausch and Jeffrey Hare, Bright Point’s director of operations, will become managing directors at UHY Advisors.
