US Foods Holding has named Kristin Coleman as executive vice president, general counsel, and chief compliance officer, effective Feb. 1.

Coleman will oversee all legal and compliance matters, as well as support the board of directors in corporate governance matters for the company. She will report to President and CEO Pietro Satriano.

An experienced general counsel, Coleman joins US Foods from Sears Holdings, where she served as SVP, general counsel, and corporate secretary since 2014. Prior to joining Sears, Coleman served as the VP, general counsel, and corporate secretary for Brunswick since 2009. Before moving in-house, Coleman was in private practice with law firm Sidley Austin.

Independent directors

US Foods also has elected two new independent directors, effective Feb. 11.

Robert Dutkowsky is chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Tech Data, a technology distributor. With his addition to the board, Dutkowsky will serve on the board’s audit committee and will serve on the board’s nominating and corporate governance committee as chairman.

Carl Andrew Pforzheimer currently serves as chairman with Barteca Holdings, the successor organization created in 2012 to Barcelona Restaurants, which he co-founded in 1995. Early in his career, Pforzheimer completed a classic two-year apprenticeship in Burgundy, France and worked under numerous notable chefs in the United States. Pforzheimer was also the original food editor for Martha Stewart Living magazine. He currently serves as a director of Hickory Tavern, a privately held restaurant group.
