The five-module course offers detailed tutorials that take users through common XBRL-related tasks via Altova’s MissionKit 2009, an integrated suite of XML, database, and XBRL tools.

Users will learn how to create an extension taxonomy in XMLSpy; map financial data from a backend system to a taxonomy and convert it into a compliant XBRL instance document with MapForce; and then explore how to automate this process by generating royalty-free code in Java, C#, or C++. The final module focuses on XBRL report generation where users will employ StyleVision to create an XBRL report using drag and drop functionality for simultaneous output in HTML, RTF, PDF, and Word 2007 formats. There are also 30 instructional videos and interactive quizzes for each module of the XBRL course.
