KPMG Australia says that CEO Andrew Yates has resigned, effective immediately, over the mishandling of whistleblower allegations. The board has appointed Stan Stavros as interim CEO of KPMG Australia, while continuing the search for a permanent successor.
Julian McPherson, national managing partner of audit and assurance, also “will stand down from this role effective immediately and will resign from the firm after an orderly transition of his client responsibilities,” KPMG stated in a May 29 press release. The firm said it will announce an interim national managing partner of audit and assurance “shortly.”
