The State of AI Governance in Third-Party Risk

AI is already inside your ordinary vendors, through their employees’ personal tools, features added to the software they use, and their own subcontractors and suppliers. Yet only 15% of organizations track how all their relevant third parties use or govern AI, according to interim findings from the ECI State of Third-Party Risk & Integrity Survey with Compliance Week and Diligent.

In this session, ECI CEO James Lindstrom and Integrity Bridge CEO Andrew McBride look at where AI governance stands today, including recent cases where vendors’ unmanaged AI use led to fabricated citations and exposed personal data. They will also explain why vendor AI is a program governance issue as much as a technical one, and what a practical approach to assessing it looks like.
