$29.2 billion Prudential has appointed Margaret Coltman as general counsel and corporate secretary, effective Jan. 1, 2010. Coltman currently serves in these roles on an interim basis.

Coltman joined the insurance giant in July of 2009, when she replaced former general counsel and corporate secretary Peter Maynard, who stepped down after 11 years of service. In her new role, Coltman will lead a team of 30 and report to CEO Tidjane Thiam.
