The owner of a medical supply company allegedly billed federal health programs $30 million for items that were unnecessary and tainted by kickbacks, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Oklahoma chiropractor Mark Loftis, owner of Back Pain Home Supplies, d.b.a. EZ Medical Supply, allegedly paid kickbacks to marketers for referrals of Medicare patients, the DOJ said Thursday in a press release. He also allegedly paid kickbacks to telemedicine companies and marketers for signed doctors’ orders to support the bills he submitted to Medicare for the orthotic supplies, as well as other federal health programs.
