Joseph Johnson, chief accounting officer of Chiquita Brands International, has resigned, the produce company said this week said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Johnson's departure follows that of several other executives, as Chiquita Brands comes under new ownership.

Chiquita  Brands, which was purchased by Brazil's privately owned Cutrale-Safra Groups in January, said in a Form 8-K filing, dated April 6, that Johnson's departure is effective April 17.

In addition to Johnson, the company also said that CEO Brian Kocher’s employment was terminated, effective March 31, for “good reason under this change in control severance agreement.” Other executives to have left the company include former CEO Ed Lonergan; former chief financial officer Rick Frier; former chief people officer Kevin Holland; and former general counsel James Thompson.
